Workout plan for Beginner? All help greatly appreciated!?
Hello and thank you for taking the time to help me out here. So a little about myself first: I am not an unfit person, but rather I was a track and field athlete in high school. I am/have always been a very slim person with not much to show as far as upper body goes. I have never been to a gym and never used any weightlifting equipment, which makes me very self conscious. I'm 5'10" and weigh 145lbs, but would ideally like to be around 160lbs. I don't have the money for a personal trainer, and to be honest I am a bit self conscious about the whole thing. Online websites seem to be designed for people with some experience, and I am not sure how much weight, how many reps, or how many sets I should do. A facility is not an issue...I'm at Northeastern University and have access to an amazing gym (the Marino center). This is something I'd really like to accomplish, and I am very motivated to get this going. Thank you so much in advance!
www.cagedanimal.net Come check out the site and post the smae question in the beginner's forum. We can set you up with a diet and a routine. We have a some experienced people and some beginners. It's a very positive place to get info, and being new will not be held against you. Check it out. If you are serious then this is the place to be. It's free and you will get some great support. It's like having a whole bunch of personal trainer. The only thing required of you is motivation and participation. There are a ton of articles to read and help you get informed. Give us a few questions and we will go find the info and then it's up to you to read it. We will explain how many reps and how much weight. Most importantly is getting you to understand why. Everyone can sit here and tell you to do this and that. You should know why you are doing it and what benefits it will bring to you. I have told you where to find the tools you need. How can I prepare..?
How can I prepare my horse for a trail ride? He is in training for eventing but we haven't done any competitions away from home. On Saturday we are going trail riding with my trainer and my horse, Bronson's, old owner. He is pretty bombproof but how can I test him (without buying anything). We have a small pond in our little course in the forest but we can't walk in it because it is quick sand and we have very, very steep trails, fields, old farm equipment. How can I make sure Bronson is all prepared though? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks guys. Yes I am worrying too much and his old owner didn't take him on trail rides but, he has been in a few eventer shows at our barn. Not anywhere else.
I would guess if he is in training for eventing, then going on a nice relaxing trail ride will be a well-deserved treat and he will be just fine! I know you might be worried about trail obstacles or things you may find along the way, but if you have good communication with your horse and are confident riding him, you should be fine. I would definitely disregard your first two answers. Scaring him with a Wal-mart bag isn't going to mean anything to him other than "what the heck is she doing, waving that bag at me?" and the other answer didn't even make sense.
Good luck on your ride. The only preparation you can really do is ride him a lot before the ride and be confident and in control.
