how do I burn an ISO file using Nero express?
I have Nero express 5.5 and I am trying to burn the ISO file of ubuntu to a cd
this is what I do:
open Nero
click Disk image or saved project
and the it asks me to open the file, I click file types: image files and then click on the ubuntu.ISO file that is on
my desktop.
After that it takes me to the screen that's supposed to let me choose writing speed and # of copies but that is greyed out so I can't click it. I know its not supposed to dothis so what am I Doing wrong?
when I click next opens a dialog box that tells me to save the image file (as . Nrg) so I do
and then it does like it is wrtng to the disk but at the end it comes out blank
what am I doing wrong? what else can I do? ( I can't dowload any other software cuz my comp doesn't have Internet, for some reason it does not recgnize the modem)
Instead of using Nero Express, click Start > All Programs > Ahead > Data > Nero Burning Rom.
Once it opens the wizard will pop up, Close this then click file open, browse to where you have the .iso file. Pull down the file types select all. Click on the .iso file, click open and then "Burn".
It doesn’t matter what speed it burns at so long as it burns. I have never had luck with Nero express; I find that Nero Burning Rom is faster and better laid out to me.
If this doesn’t work then your .iso file may be corrupt or you need a high version of Nero. I have burned ALOT of .iso files this way and never had a problem.
ADDED#########
Do you have a CDR drive? Because it should be the default when you go to burn. If the Image recorder is the only device listed in the drop down menu, then it is not recognizing your CDROM drive as a recordable drive, and attempting to create a Nero image file.
Hope this helps
