I have a mandarin orange tree that looks healthy from the outside but I find little white worms in about 1 out of 3 oranges. I have read that this is probably caused by moths or other insects laying their eggs on the buds. Is the whole tree infected with worms? How can I get rid of the worms and prevent them in the future? Are these fruits with worms still safe to eat or do I have to throw all the oranges away? Thanks
a shot gun at close range will do a fantastic job...er actually a product available at Lowe's called Sevin will do it nicely and it is relatively inexpensive. Throw the existing fruit away the buggers are hard to get out from your teeth. Good Luck.
I am a mushroom gatherer, hiker and also a hunter so I am in these mixed use areas a lot. At all times I wear hunter orange, just because of all too many incidents like these lately. I am in favor of three approaches:
