Quikclot Sport
Has anyone had experience with QuikClot Sport, used to stop bleeding?
If yes, was it effective? Do you recommend it?
It's still a controversial thing. My theory is, if the bleeding's severe enough, USE IT! We were told that 3 beanbag-sized bags could stop bleeding from a severed femoral artery (one of the largest arteries in your body)! If you do decide to use it, please make sure you read ALL of the instructions & precautions! The guy that did our inservice said the only safe way to remove the bags was to use a pretty large saline flush, and in the ER.
